Duties of a student

Students are backbone of a country. In the word of Kothari commission on education, "The density of a nation is shaped in its class room." A student helps in building up the nation in many ways. So it is essential for them to know their duties. The duties of students are following:-

1.Duties towards themselves:- The first duty of student is towards themselves. They should keep their bodies healthy and active by taking a keen interest in games, sports, N.C.C. and different forms of physical exercises.

2.Attention to studies:- Students should devote a greater part of their time to the pursuit of knowledge of wisdom.

3.Duties towards parents:- Students should have due regards for their parents and not waste money thoughtlessly. They should serve their parents and look after them.

4.Sound character:- Students must develop a high moral character. While at schools and colleges, they must learn a lesson of self-sacrifice, self- respect, self-help, cooperation and honesty.

5.Discipline:- Another duty of students is to lead disciplined life. They should maintain discipline, both in class and outside of it.

6.A spirit of social service:- Students must give time for social service after study hours. They can help people in fighting the evils of the society such as child-marriage, drinking, smoking, superstition, dowry system etc. They should create in people a spirit of social service.

7.Conclusion:- Student should prepare the country for a bright future. A country where students fulfill their duties is sure to make headway.

A student who fulfill his/her duties it is sure that he/she will get a great success. So we all as a student should follow our duties for the bright future of our country.
