Significant responsibilities of Pre-school teachers


Preschool is an institution for children under 5 to teach basics of education. Purpose of preschools is to develop interest in children for learning things at early age. Working parents mostly prefer sending their child to preschools to improve their IQ. Preschools are not just for basic education but it also functions a crèche where children are provided care in the absence of the parents. Preschools are thus referred as play schools. A Pre-school teacher is the one, who undertakes those functions of the institution with significant responsibilities, which include:
  • The foremost responsibility of a pre-school teacher is to promote intelligence, physical activity and the social well-being of the children.
  • Supervision of children behaviors and altering the odd mannerisms is the second most important responsibility that parents expect from a pre-school teacher.
  • Practically teaching and developing simple teaching models for children under 5
  • Developing vocabulary and pronunciation of basic languages in children
  • Maintaining a parent-teacher relationship for updating the progress of their kids
  • Make the children strong in basic education in order to promote them to next level of primary
  • Importance of diet and food habits has to be taught.
  • Teachers should teach the social welfares and fundamental lifestyles.
  • Identifying the skills and nurturing right from the initial stage
  • Handling children from different religious as well as cultural backgrounds
  • Exposing kids to different extra-curricular activities like dance, music, drawing, etc.
  • Planning educational trips
  • Ensuring safety of children
  • Other miscellaneous duties like noshing food, dressing up, making to sleep and cleaning untidy things made by the kids also should be executed by pre-school teachers.
